The symposium
An Interdisciplinary Collaboration
28 Sept 2018
3:00-7:30 pm
Ending Life at its Beginning? Perspectives on Neonatal Euthanasia from Philosophy, Nursing, Medicine, & Law.
After the passing of bill C-14, euthanasia has become a predominant topic of discussion within healthcare, government, and the public. With this conference, we are hoping to start an ethical conversation about euthanasia and the selective non-treatment of severely ill infants.
Join us on September 28, 2018 to engage in our discussion. We will be showcasing various speakers from different disciplines who are experts in their fields. Our team of presenters bring an exceptional combination of real-life clinical experience, nuanced legal understanding, and theoretical ethical perspective. This event will further academic conversation on this issue in an unprecedented way. A panel and opportunity for audience Q&A will follow individual presentations.
Food and refreshments will be provided. RSVP is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated.
Please also refer to our Quick Links page (further down) to access our livestream and feedback forms. Individuals tuning in via e-conferencing will be able to engage speakers with questions online.
The conference will be located on the University of Alberta North campus in the Edmonton Clinical Health Academy, room L1-490 (the basement). The building is easily accessible from the Health Sciences LRT station and parking is available at the Jubilee auditorium next store.
